The amount of amp power and number of amps will depend on what kind of setup you wish to get. Behind the rear seat sub options are very limited and not as great as under the rear seat options.
Under the rear seats with subs facing down tends to offer the best performance. The amp(s) may be placed anywhere in the back of the rear seats or under them depending on the sub setup.
If you wish to have everything truly plug and play then I offer this service for an additional amount. You may purchase one from Amazon or from me for $50. The most popular way of doing this is by using a harness such as the FOR-11CK. Now for the amp/sub stuff, you'll need to get a signal from the head unit back to the amplifier so it can provide sound to the speakers/sub. Once they have amplified power they will sing beautifully. These speakers will work without an amplifier but you'll only get a slight bump in performance on them. You'll then need to use a speaker wiring harness to clip into the factory clip, also provided with purchase. You'll need to install any speaker into an adapter plate which I would provide for free with purchase. Those Morels are super nice but no speaker will be plug and play unfortunately. Send me a PM and I can walk you down the process so you can make a better decision on how you wish to proceed. if I need the amp to drive the Morel's from the start, then I'll rethink my approach. For phase (3), I'm assuming by having the amp under the seat, or behind the seat, I can plug and play a sub-woofer and the two additional speakers. Those two items I'll research down the road, and then add. (An initial poor man's way.) :-)Īdd a decent sub-woofer, and also upgrade those reused OEM speakers behind the seat with a better speaker setup. With Phase (2), I would reuse the OEM speakers to give the 4 speaker setup. Request that the amp be installed under the seat, or behind the back of the seat? that way, via RCA connectors, I can add components for phase (3). Have someone else install an amp, plus whatever else is needed for connecting to the factory head unit. Maybe go with the Morel Tempo Ultra 692's? These are 6x9, and they're plug an play right into the factory harness? What about the Tweeters in the A-pillars? I would then save the OEM 6x9 door speakers for phase (2). I was figuring I could break this up into (3) phases.
Plus, I also want to keep things looking factory. For reference, my RCSB only has the tweeters in the A-pillars, and only one speaker in each door. I'm thinking about doing the door speakers and A-pillar tweeter installs myself. I'm still doing a bit of research, and would appreciate some further guidance.
